On being believed when you look fine

Looking well can become its own kind of work. You learn to edit the story before you tell it, because the visible version is easier for other people to hold.

There are days when explaining feels more expensive than keeping quiet. There are also days when the right person listens without asking you to prove anything.

Being believed does not fix the pain or make the energy predictable. It gives some of that energy back. It means care can start from what you say is true.

We deserve relationships where the invisible parts are not treated like an inconvenience.
